Hello, I'm Rebecca
I'm a terrible cook, but I love to look at recipe books for the pictures. I'm constantly inspired by travel and nature and I was lucky enough to spend most of my twenties living in the Middle East, visiting destinations such as Oman, Jordan, Turkey and Beirut. Now, living in the UK, I'm so pleased my job allows me to continue to travel and meet new people.
In 2005 I started my career working on British VOGUE's website as the Picture Editor and then moved on to head up the picture desk on Dubai's leading women's fashion title Harper's Bazaar. Working for eight years in the media industry eventually gave me the confidence to launch my own photography company, and in 2014 A Thing Like That was born.
On most occasions, I work with a second photographer. This means more opportunities to capture beautiful, candid shots and an alternative view on every aspect of your wedding. Although you may not think it, two photographers on your day is actually less obtrusive and noticeable than one as it means less running around to get that shot! I have a large network of photographers I can call upon, but a photographer I regularly work with, Heather, has accompanied me on countless weddings. You can read more about her and her photography style below.
Hello, I'm Heather
I love the outdoors, people and travelling in my big grey van! There’s nothing better than parking up, turning on the heater and bunkering down with a good cup of tea. When I’m not off in the van I am playing in the workshop with wood or in the fields with the dogs on my partner’s farm in West Wales.
After graduating from Photography for Fashion and Advertising from the University of South Wales, I now shoot weddings and commercial work all over the UK.
My photographic approach is easy going, laid back and un-staged which always results in beautiful natural images of you and your guests and all the little details at your wedding.
